Obviously, when you add more juice to your ride, it adds more stress to driveline components. I'm looking to add an HFC and APR stage 1 tune on my 2.0 and was wondering if anyone had heard of any potential issues with the clutch/tranny after such modifications were installed.

can't chime in specifically for Audi, but many 335i guys I know are fine upping power on stock clutches. Once you start putting some SERIOUS power down, that's when you'll notice your clutch slipping.

Stage 1 won't be a problem with the stock clutch. Stage 2+ your clutch will probably need an upgrade. Even if you go Stage 3 you'll just need a heavy duty clutch. The transmission itself won't have any issues.

That's what I was thinking. I have Stage 1 done now and everything seems to be fine. No slip or any other weird noises. I was just a bit nervous about the driveline gear, i.e. driveshafts, rear diff, CV axels and the gears in tranny itself because that engine will put down 350lb/ft of torque with the HFC and ECU tune. I don't want anything to go SPLODE on me. :)
Thanks!

I'm %99 certain the majority of those parts past the transmission are shared between the A5 and S5, so I don't think that much torque will be an issue.

Ah, I was wondering about that. Do you think that they use the same flywheel and clutch plate assembly?

I would be rather surprised if they used the same clutch and flywheel.
